The Youth Club building in Needham Market has enormous potential and we are currently in negotiations with Suffolk County Council regarding the use of this building.
At a recent meeting it was agreed that the top room (the coffee bar and TV area) is the ideal location and would be made available to us by Suffolk County Council (SCC).
The decor, appearance and facilities in this part of the building were discussed and it was agreed that it is in need of renovation and up-dating. Precise details of this are to be agreed in the future. It was also agreed that the double 'fire doors' at the side of the building would be changed to enable independent access to the rear of the building.
Suffolk Connexions, soon to be part of a new Directorate for children and young people, have said, "As for your present proposal of integrated delivery with the SCC projects I am fully supportive as long as you can show that your staff have CRB checks, you have an educative programme which involves young people in decision making and that you adhere to certain health and safety standards."
