Software will be a low cost concern, but there will be some initial outlay for common desktop packages like Adobe, Paintshop etc
The general networking (and most specifically the gaming) costs are incredibly variable. An xbox network could provide the gaming solution we need, with relatively low costs for a lan/internet-capable gaming system. The problem then is no dual-use. The xbox network would be just that, and entirely seperate from the other computer use.
